Medicine Through the Ages

1000 A.D. – That root is heathen. Here, say this prayer.
1850 A.D. – That prayer is superstition. Here, drink this potion.
1940 A.D. – That potion is snake oil. Here, swallow this pill.
1985 A.D. – That pill is ineffective. Here, take this antibiotic.
2000 A.D. – That antibiotic is artificial. Here, eat this root.

State Budget Issues Hit Home

We had to switch to a bigger pharmacy away from the small town guy we like so much.  This is a big deal with two children with Cystic Fibrosis and massive amount of medications they take.  The owner said that he is having trouble staying in business because the state is not paying for the meds they are supposed to cover.   The same is also happening in the daycares in Illinois.  Maybe a new governor is the future who can remedy this terrible situation.  I foresee many program cuts in the near future much like Missouri went through with Gov. Blunt.

Also, I’m pretty sure I need an antibiotic for whatever is in my chest, but I’ve been to lazy/stubborn to go see a doctor.
